This Cookie Policy explains how Brihaspathi (“we”, “us”, or “our”), in connection with the SheetPilot product, uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit sheetpilot.co.in and related subdomains (for example www.sheetpilot.co.in) and use our services (the “Services”). Brihaspathi operates SheetPilot; company information: brihaspathi.com. Read this together with our Privacy Policy, which describes how we process personal data more broadly.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make sites work, keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how a service is used. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and pixels; we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy where the concept is the same.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Operate and secure the Services — for example, to maintain your session after you sign in, to protect against fraud and abuse, and to route traffic correctly;
- Remember settings — such as interface preferences where we store them in the browser;
- Measure reliability — limited technical and performance data may be associated with requests (see our Privacy Policy for how we use usage data).
3. Types of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary (always active)
These cookies are required for the Services to function. You cannot opt out of them without losing essential functionality. They include, for example:
- Session / authentication cookies — after you sign in (for example with Google), we may set an HTTP-only, secure session cookie so our servers can recognize your browser for subsequent requests. This is needed to keep you logged in and to protect your account.
- Security and load balancing — cookies or headers used to enforce security policies, prevent cross-site request forgery where applicable, and deliver the site reliably.
3.2 Functional / preferences
Where we use browser storage to remember non-essential choices (for example display options), we do so to improve your experience. You can clear these by clearing site data in your browser.
3.3 Analytics and performance
We may use first-party or third-party tools to understand how the Services are used (for example error rates and performance). If we use third-party analytics cookies, we will describe them here and, where required, ask for your consent before non-essential cookies are set.
4. Third-party cookies and sign-in with Google
When you choose “Sign in with Google,” Google may set or read cookies according to Google’s Cookie Policy and your Google account settings. We do not control those cookies. Please review Google’s documentation if you want to manage Google-side storage.
5. Duration
Session cookies expire when you close your browser or after a defined session timeout. Persistent cookies remain for a set period or until you delete them. Exact durations depend on the cookie’s purpose and configuration.
6. Your choices
You can control cookies through:
- Browser settings — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in or core features from working.
- Google account — manage permissions and connected apps from your Google Account settings when you use Google OAuth with SheetPilot.
We do not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals in a standardized way; industry practice is still evolving.
7. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices or the law change. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes your acknowledgment of the updated policy where permitted by law.
